We are Kent State University students who assist Portage County Habitat for Humanity in volunteering, advocating, fundraising, and educating the community about poverty in our county. We educate our members in order to advocate for Habitat for Humanity of Portage County’s mission: a dedication to eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide. We volunteer biweekly to work on homes that are being built or rehabilitated for community members. We fundraise through scavenger hunts, designing and selling studs, and holding an annual rake-a-thon. All of our proceeds go towards helping to fund construction sites. We also travel for alternative spring break trips to assist Habitat chapters across the country. Past locations have included Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina.
